Visa Just Took Stablecoin Payouts Out of Pilot Mode
Oct 20, 2026
Visa Direct moved its USDC prefunding tool into full production, with payments platform Inyo Global as the first partner live on it.
From Test to Live
Visa has been quietly testing stablecoins for over a year, and now one of those experiments just graduated. Visa Direct, the company's real-time payments network, has moved its USDC prefunding feature into full commercial production, with payments platform Inyo Global as the first partner using it.
Inyo works with money transmitters, fintechs, and banks, handling everything from onboarding to cross-border payouts in over 180 countries. Now its clients can fund those payouts with USDC instead of waiting on traditional banking windows.
Why It Matters
Cross-border payouts often stall when banking hours close, especially over weekends. Stablecoin prefunding fixes that by letting businesses top up funds in near real time, any day, any hour.
It's a small-sounding update, but it's a sign that stablecoins are moving past pilot programs and into the plumbing of everyday global payments — exactly the kind of boring, practical use case that tends to stick around.
