Samsung Brings USDC Transfers on Solana Straight Into the Galaxy Wallet

Samsung is building USDC transfers on Solana directly into Samsung Wallet for US Galaxy users, complete with fiat on- and off-ramps and no separate crypto app required.

Crypto gets a lot more mainstream

Samsung just made stablecoins a lot more accessible for millions of people. The South Korean tech giant announced that US Galaxy users will soon be able to send USDC on Solana directly from Samsung Wallet, with no separate crypto app needed.

What makes this interesting is the fiat on- and off-ramp built right in. That means someone could convert dollars into USDC and send it, all inside an app that's already sitting on their home screen. For a lot of everyday users, that's the difference between "crypto is a hassle" and "crypto is just another way to send money."

Why Solana, why now

Solana's speed and low fees make it a natural fit for everyday payments, and Samsung tapping it for this feature is another sign that stablecoins are quietly becoming the on-ramp most big companies are betting on. Expect more phone makers and fintechs to follow with similar wallet-native stablecoin features over the next year.
