Robinhood Just Bought Bitcoin For The First Time Ever

On-chain data shows Robinhood quietly added $25 million in Bitcoin to its own balance sheet, marking a first for the trading giant.

Big news out of Menlo Park. On-chain sleuths at Arkham just spotted something new: Robinhood has bought Bitcoin for its own balance sheet for the very first time. The purchase comes in at roughly $25 million, and it's a pretty notable moment for a company that's been more focused on building infrastructure than stacking sats.

Why this matters

Robinhood has spent the last year or so going all-in on crypto rails, including its own chain project, Robinhood Chain. But until now, the company itself hadn't actually held BTC on its books. Adding Bitcoin to the treasury puts Robinhood in the same conversation as other public companies treating BTC as a reserve asset, not just a product they let customers trade.

It's a small purchase in the grand scheme of corporate treasuries, but the signal matters more than the size. When a platform that serves millions of retail traders starts buying for itself, it's worth paying attention.
