CME Group Adds Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures
CME Group has officially launched futures contracts for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Uniswap (UNI), pushing its single-asset crypto derivatives lineup to 11 products. It's a pretty big deal for traders who've been stuck choosing between spot exposure or sketchy offshore platforms for these tokens.
The move gives institutions a regulated way to hedge or speculate on two smaller-cap but widely held assets. Bitcoin Cash has been around since the 2017 fork and still has a loyal base, while Uniswap remains the biggest name in decentralized trading.
Why It Matters for UNI
The timing is interesting too. Having six months of regulated futures trading on CME could matter a lot for Bitwise's pending spot Uniswap ETF application, since regulators often look at the maturity of the underlying futures market before approving spot products.
Whether or not you trade BCH or UNI directly, this is another sign that institutional crypto adoption keeps expanding past just Bitcoin and Ethereum.
