Circle Flips the Switch on Arc Mainnet to Push USDC Everywhere

One Balance, No Extra Token Needed

Circle has officially opened the mainnet for Arc, its own blockchain built around a simple idea: let people pay for things — and pay their gas fees — using the exact same USDC balance. No more juggling a separate gas token just to move your stablecoins around.

That might sound like a small detail, but it's actually a pretty big usability upgrade. A lot of newcomers to crypto get tripped up by needing ETH or another native token just to send USDC. Arc tries to remove that friction entirely.

Can It Catch Up?

The catch is that Arc isn't the only network chasing this lane. Other payment-focused chains have been racing to become the default settlement layer for stablecoins, and Circle's edge really comes down to demand: developers building on it, institutions settling through it, and everyday users actually choosing it over alternatives.

Circle clearly believes owning the rails for its own stablecoin is worth the effort. Now it's a matter of proving people want to use them.
