Chainlink Partners With Bank Giant Serving 1.7 Billion Accounts
Sep 24, 2026
Infosys, whose banking infrastructure touches over 1.7 billion accounts, is standardizing on Chainlink's tools to give its financial clients a path onchain.
A Huge Bank Tech Player Goes Onchain
Infosys, the Indian IT giant whose systems quietly run banking infrastructure for over 1.7 billion customer accounts worldwide, just teamed up with Chainlink. That's a massive number, and it means this deal could actually move the needle for onchain finance instead of just being another partnership announcement.
The idea is pretty simple: Infosys will standardize on a bunch of Chainlink's tools, including its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), Data Feeds, Data Streams, Proof of Reserve, and an automated compliance engine. Basically, it gives Infosys' banking clients a ready-made path to plug into blockchain rails without building everything from scratch.
Why This Matters
Banks have talked about "going onchain" for years, but most of that talk never left the pilot-program stage. Having infrastructure this large standardize on one oracle network is a different kind of signal. It suggests the plumbing for institutional crypto adoption is getting built quietly, one enterprise partnership at a time, even while retail attention stays fixed on price charts.
