Bank Leumi Wants Its App to Let You Trade Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana

Bank Leumi is planning to add in-app trading for Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana, letting customers buy crypto straight from their banking app.

Bank Leumi, one of Israel's biggest banks, is getting ready to let its regular banking app double as a crypto trading tool. That's a pretty big shift for a bank that, like most traditional banks, used to keep crypto at arm's length.

The plan is simple on paper: customers would be able to buy and trade Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana straight from their banking app, no need to sign up for a separate crypto exchange or move funds around.

Why this is a big deal

Banks have usually been slow, or straight up unwilling, to offer this kind of access. Big financial institutions tend to worry about regulation, security, and reputation, so seeing one actually build in-app trading is a sign that attitudes are changing.

If Bank Leumi pulls this off, it could push other banks in the region to do the same thing. Nobody wants to lose customers to competitors offering an easier way to buy crypto.

It's still early, but this looks like another small step toward crypto becoming a normal part of everyday banking.
